GOG Dr Shih-Han Tsai
Dr Shih-Han Tsai is an obstetrician and gynaecologist who cares for women at all stages of life, from adolescence through to pregnancy and menopause.

She takes a calm, supportive approach and her focus is on creating a space where patients feel comfortable, heard and confident in their care.

Dr Tsai has a special interest in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and comprehensive women’s health care. This includes:

  • laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for a range of gynaecological conditions
  • management of conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and performing hysterectomy using minimally invasive techniques where appropriate
  • obstetric care for both low- and high-risk pregnancies
  • supporting women through pregnancy and birth, offering vaginal delivery (including instrumental delivery) and caesarean section.

She completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney (2005) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Griffith University (2009).

She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) in 2023.

She has undertaken further fellowship training in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery through the Asia-Pacific Association for Gynaecologic Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy (APAGE).

Dr Tsai trained in Queensland across major tertiary and regional hospitals, including Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She has extensive experience working in diverse healthcare settings, including regional hospitals across New South Wales and Victoria.

Dr Tsai was drawn to obstetrics and gynaecology for its unique combination of both medical and surgical care, allowing her to provide comprehensive management tailored to each patient’s needs. She enjoys caring for a broad range of women’s health concerns, from pregnancy care to complex gynaecological conditions.

She finds it particularly rewarding to see patients improve and regain confidence in their health – whether that is after treatment or surgery, or through supporting families as they welcome a new baby. The continuity of care within the specialty is especially meaningful to her, allowing her to build long-term relationships and support women through important stages of their lives.

Dr Tsai is fluent in Mandarin and English and welcomes patients who feel more comfortable communicating in Chinese. She also brings an understanding of diverse cultural perspectives and aims to provide respectful, culturally sensitive care.
